Independent Test Results of SlipStream SP5 from Veritest

Independent tests conducted by Veritest, a leading provider of comprehnsive product testing, again confirmed that SlipStream SP delivers the fastest Web and email acceleration.

SlipStream's Web and email acceleration product outperformed the competition in Internet BenchMark testing conducted by VeriTest. These tests were performed on SlipStream SP3.2 - the then current version.

SlipStream SP delivered as much as a 7.33x gain in time-to-download of first-view Web pages, when compared to a non-accelerated service

SlipStream SP's maximum gain was more than 40% higher than the competition's maximum gain
The competition took 26.5% longer than SlipStream SP to download first view Web pages, on average

PuTTY SSH Client

PuTTY is a client program for the SSH, Telnet and Rlogin network protocols.

These protocols are all used to run a remote session on a computer, over a network. PuTTY implements the client end of that session: the end at which the session is displayed, rather than the end at which it runs.

In really simple terms: you run PuTTY on a Windows machine, and tell it to connect to (for example) a Unix machine. PuTTY opens a window. Then, anything you type into that window is sent straight to the Unix machine, and everything the Unix machine sends back is displayed in the window. So you can work on the Unix machine as if you were sitting at its console, while actually sitting somewhere else.

This software allows a user to "accelerate" their dial-up Internet connection by using a world-wide network of cached images to provide content at a faster rate, up to x14 times faster than an standard dial-up connection.
